Forest fires reported in Soma and Bursa, Turkey

A forest fire in the Cenkyeri neighborhood of Soma, Manisa, has been brought under control following aerial and ground interventions. The response included six aircraft, six helicopters, and various firefighting vehicles from the İzmir Forest Regional Directorate and Manisa Metropolitan Municipality.

The Manisa Governor's Office issued a statement thanking various institutions and Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı for their coordination and efforts. Notably, the Governor's official social media announcement thanked all contributing public organizations and volunteers but did not include a mention of the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality.

Meanwhile, a separate forest fire has broken out in the Bursa region, specifically in the area between the Balıoğlu neighborhood in Orhaneli and the Perçin neighborhood in Orhangazi. Emergency teams, including four helicopters and 76 personnel, are currently working to combat the flames, which have been spread by wind.
