Forest fires scorch forests in Côte-d'Or and Vosges, France
Multiple forest fires broke out in eastern France on 7 July. In the Côte-d'Or department, flames burned about 24 hectares in Fleurey‑sur‑Ouche and 3.5 hectares in Morey‑Saint‑Denis, prompting the evacuation of animals from a local farm and the deployment of dozens of firefighters. The blaze was contained after overnight efforts, with orange‑level fire alert remaining in place.
In the Vosges department, a separate fire near Bouzey in Chaumousey destroyed roughly 1,200 m² of woodland. Firefighters from nearby towns quickly contained the incident, and no evacuations were required. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
