Italy implements various regional health and wellness initiatives

Various regional initiatives across Italy are focusing on public health, disease prevention, and community wellness.

Medical prevention programs include free breast cancer screenings in Cavriago organized by LILT and Fondazione Lodini, and head and neck cancer diagnostic days at the San Carlo Hospital in Potenza as part of the European Make Sense Campaign. In Catania, a mobile unit will provide oncological screenings for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancers. Additionally, the “PerCORSA di Salute” project is launching a national tour through cities like Trento, Monza, and Florence to provide respiratory disease screenings and counseling.

Community wellness is also being promoted through educational events and festivals. In Varese, researchers will discuss the impact of lifestyle and nutrition on chronic diseases through the YOUGOODY project. Other local events include the Mövat Festival in Piacenza, which combines sport and nutrition, and the Festival of Integrated Medicine in Foligno, focusing on the intersection of art and well-being.

Social and inclusive initiatives are also active, such as the “Sport, Football and Inclusion” conference in Arezzo and various community sports and volunteerism festivals in Monopoli and Cherasco.
