Former deputy and union leader Facundo Moyano was detained in the early hours of Tuesday after a 911 call reported a 23‑year‑old influencer, Candela Arizaga, running semi‑naked and disoriented in the Belgrano neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. Police found the pair exiting a department on Avenida del Libertador, pursued them, and took Moyano into custody. He was charged with light injuries and illegal deprivation of liberty in a gender‑based violence context.

Arizaga was taken to Hospital Pirovano, where she initially claimed she had been assaulted. Hours later she testified that Moyano had not harmed her and that the episode occurred under the influence of drugs. Investigators seized the apartment, collected phones and security footage, and found no drugs on site. Moyano was later released under judicial restrictions, maintaining the indictment while the case continues to be examined by the Unit of Flagrancy North.
