Facundo Moyano detained after alleged assault on partner in Buenos Aires
In the early hours of 4 August 2026, police responded to two 911 calls in the Belgrano neighbourhood of Buenos Aires – one reporting a woman in distress and another describing a naked woman on Avenida del Libertador. Officers located former national deputy and union leader Facundo Moyano, 41, and his 23‑year‑old partner, influencer Candela Arizaga, at the intersection of Virrey Vertiz and Sucre. Arizaga was found semi‑naked, disoriented and showing signs of drug consumption. She was taken by the SAME emergency service to Hospital Pirovano for medical care. Moyano was detained, taken to Comisaría Vecinal 13A and later formally charged by fiscal Julián Pistone with injuries and illegal deprivation of liberty in a gender‑based violence context.
