Former Burdur teacher arrested for synthetic drug trafficking

Former teacher M. I., 36, who had previously been expelled from the teaching profession for drug use, was detained by Burdur police together with 20‑year‑old accomplice R. Ş. after investigators seized large quantities of synthetic cannabinoid‑infused paper. About 3,317 doses were found on M. I. and 13,448 doses on R. Ş. Both were charged with manufacturing, trafficking, and possession of narcotics and were remanded to prison.

The operation, conducted under the direction of the Burdur Public Prosecutor’s Office and carried out by the local narcotics unit, also led to the temporary detention of a third suspect, E. A., who was released after giving a statement. The arrests underscore the continued anti‑drug efforts of Turkish authorities in the Burdur region.
