Former Cuautitlán Mayor Ariel Juárez Announces 2027 Candidacy and Accuses Current Administration

Ariel Juárez Rodríguez, who served as municipal president of Cuautitlán from 2019 to 2021, announced his intention to run for the mayor’s office again in the 2027 local elections. Juárez, a member of the Morena party, said he will seek to recover the municipality he once governed, alleging corruption, extortion and the involvement of his own relatives in the current administration led by PRI mayor Juana Carrillo Luna. He indicated he will file formal complaints against the present government but has not yet disclosed the specific allegations or supporting documents.

Juárez left the mayoralty in 2021 to become a state deputy for the Tultepec district, later serving as director general of the State Roads Board under the administration of Delfina Gómez. His return to local politics is framed as an effort to address perceived grievances of merchants, business owners and residents who are dissatisfied with the current municipal leadership.
