Former eFishery CEO Gibran Huzaifah Sentenced to Six Years in Indonesia

Indonesia's Bandung High Court reduced the prison term of former eFishery chief executive Gibran Chuzaefah Amsi El Farizy, known as Gibran Huzaifah, from nine to six years. The court also ordered a fine of 2 billion rupiah and stipulated that unpaid fines would lead to seizure and auction of his assets, including his house in Bandung.

He was convicted of embezzlement in office and money‑laundering related to the manipulation of eFishery’s financial reports between 2020 and 2024. The scheme allegedly diverted around 15 billion rupiah of investor funds, affecting Malaysia's public‑pension fund KWAP, which invested roughly RM200 million based on falsified statements. Two other former eFishery executives were also implicated in the case.
