Former Felda GM remanded over land sale and project probe
A former general manager of Felda and another man have been remanded for five days to assist the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in an investigation into alleged abuse of power and corruption.
The probe involves the appointment of a developer for a Kuala Lumpur project and the sale of land belonging to the statutory body. Reports suggest the land may have been sold to a company linked to the developer without the knowledge of the Felda board of directors or its subsidiary.
This investigation is part of ‘Ops Fella’, which includes seven investigation papers examining investment transactions and asset acquisitions by Felda and Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd (FIC) management between 2010 and 2020. One of these papers involves the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC) development on Felda land in Jalan Semarak.
