Former NAFCO CEO trial adjourned amid defense health claims

The trial of former National Food and Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) CEO Hannan Abdul-Wahab Aliddiba and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, has been adjourned following requests for postponement by their defense team on health grounds.

Deputy Attorney General Dr. Justice Srem-Sai challenged the validity of the defense's claims, noting that the letter from Aliddiba’s counsel, Godfred Yeboah Dame, lacked supporting medical evidence. Additionally, Srem-Sai argued that the medical report provided for Wuni’s counsel, Augustine Obour, failed to identify the signatory as a licensed medical officer. The prosecution expressed concern that these health-related delays might be an attempt to stall the proceedings.

Justice Francis Achibonga adjourned the case to allow the defense to regularize their documentation and provide the necessary medical reports to the court.
