The Pokémon Company sued over hidden bathroom cameras by former executive

Former engineering director Ben Tsai, aged 45, was arrested on first‑degree voyeurism charges after hidden cameras were discovered in a bathroom at The Pokémon Company’s Bellevue, Washington headquarters. Subsequent investigations linked Tsai to additional cameras placed in a nearby Starbucks, a Safeway store and his own home, and he now faces federal charges for dealing in and possessing child sexual‑abuse material.

A class‑action civil lawsuit was filed in King County Superior Court on July 30, 2026, alleging that The Pokémon Company International failed to protect employees and visitors. The suit, brought by an anonymous plaintiff identified as “Jane Doe,” seeks to represent women and girls who used the company’s female restroom facilities between 2017 and 2026, claiming the company was negligent in identifying and controlling Tsai’s conduct. The lawsuit seeks damages for emotional harm and alleges the company’s oversight duties were breached.
