Mexico's 'Jornadas de Paz' deliver free health and social services in towns

The federal, state and municipal governments in Mexico have organized a series of "Jornadas de Paz" (Peace Fairs) in several communities. In Ciudad Valles, authorities set up a free‑service fair offering a range of administrative procedures and social programs. In Quecholac, the two‑day event recorded more than 9,200 citizen attendances, including 4,051 medical consultations and 5,174 social‑proximity actions such as dental, nutrition, veterinary, and electronic‑device repairs, provided by the Navy, Defense and public security agencies. The fair in El Ranchito, Culiacán, featured free psychology, nutrition, dental care, animal‑sterilisation, haircuts and a piñata‑making workshop. In Mazatlán’s El Venadillo, residents received free birth certificates, low‑cost milk, and other government services, contributing to a total of over 26,000 attendances across the municipality. All events are part of a coordinated strategy to bring health, legal, and social assistance directly to neighborhoods, reducing the need for citizens to travel to multiple offices.
