Formosa Province Health Training and Rinconada Community Health Council Meeting Boost Local Care

In Formosa Province, Argentina, the Ministry of Human Development organized two days of training for health workers in the Sanitary District II on June 4‑5. The sessions in Fortín Lugones, Posta Cambio Zalazar, Guadalcázar and Lamadrid covered prenatal care, nutrition for pregnant women and children, sexual‑reproductive counseling and contraceptive methods. Sub‑Secretary of Sanitary Medicine Marcelo Cañete said the aim was “to strengthen the technical and human capacities of all personnel” and to improve maternal‑infant health indicators throughout the province.

In Rinconada, Chile, the local health council (CODELO) held its monthly meeting on June 2, bringing together the acting director of the CESFAM, Dr. Andri Urra, councilor José Fuentes and community members. The council presented its role in primary‑care, recent achievements and upcoming challenges, and highlighted the Office of Information, Complaints and Suggestions (OIRS) as a key channel for community feedback.

Both events illustrate regional efforts to enhance primary‑care quality through staff training and strengthened community participation.
