Formosa Province Leads Regional Drug Prevention Assembly in Posadas, Argentina

Representatives from Formosa Province, including Minister of the Community Gloria Giménez and IAPA director Lisie Meier, attended the COFEDRO NEA 2026 assembly in Posadas, Misiones. The meeting gathered officials from Corrientes, Chaco, Formosa and Misiones alongside SEDRONAR authorities to discuss strategies for preventing and treating problematic substance use.

The Formosa delegation presented its integrated approach, highlighting the provincial law granting jurisdiction over narco‑small‑scale offenses and the creation of a dedicated institute (IAPA) and judicial chamber to combat narcocrime. Participants exchanged experiences on prevention, assistance, social inclusion and inter‑institutional coordination, aiming to strengthen regional public‑health policies on drug consumption.
