Formula 1 2026 season to feature new technical regulations and broadcasting updates
The 2026 Formula 1 season will introduce significant technical changes, including a revised engine era with increased electrical components and more sustainable fuels. The new regulations aim to make cars smaller and lighter, while replacing DRS with active aerodynamics to facilitate more overtaking.
On the grid, Cadillac will debut as the 11th team, and Sauber will transition into Audi. The 24-race calendar will be broadcast in Germany via Sky, with RTL scheduled to air select races on free-to-air television. This follows RTL's announced intention to acquire Sky Deutschland for 150 million euros, a move subject to review by the European Commission.
