Monza hosts Italian Grand Prix with technical updates for Colapinto

Formula 1 arrives at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for the Italian Grand Prix. Argentine driver Franco Colapinto, driving for Alpine, enters the weekend with a significant technical update. For the first time, Colapinto will use the same upgraded specification as his teammate Pierre Gasly, featuring a redesigned floor to improve aerodynamic load and mitigate tire wear.

Colapinto, who has already secured a seat with Alpine for the 2027 season, currently holds 19 championship points. He faces challenges regarding high track temperatures, which may impact tire management. The event also features local championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who seeks to defend his position despite a penalty that places him at the back of the grid.

Off-track, Colapinto visited Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martínez in Milan ahead of the race. Additionally, the event features a special collaboration with Disney, where the safety car will sport a red livery inspired by the character Lightning McQueen to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the film 'Cars'.
