Formula 2 announces 2027 car technical updates

Formula 2 has announced details regarding its 2027 car generation. The new vehicles will feature a modified aerodynamic package, including updated front and rear wings, designed to improve racing and more closely resemble current Formula 1 cars.

While the aerodynamic design is being refreshed, the core technical pillars of the series will remain unchanged. The cars will continue to use chassis produced by Dallara, engines from Mecachrome, fuel from Aramco, and tires from Pirelli. This new generation follows a shorter three-year cycle for the current 2024–2026 models, which faced challenges regarding setup difficulty and ground-effect characteristics.
