Formula 2 Monaco Grand Prix scheduled for June 4‑7, 2026

The 2026 Formula 2 season returns to the streets of Monaco for its fourth round from June 4 to June 7. The weekend will start with a 45‑minute free‑practice session on Thursday, followed by a split qualifying session on Friday where the field is divided into Group A (odd‑numbered cars) and Group B (even‑numbered cars), each given 16 minutes on track.

The sprint race is set for Saturday at 14:15, with the grid formed by reversing the combined top ten from qualifying. The feature race on Sunday begins at 09:25 and will run 42 laps. Pirelli will supply soft (yellow) and supersoft (purple) tyres, and teams are expected to start on softs and switch to supersofts after a safety‑car period.

Italian driver Gabriele Mini leads the championship with 57 points, followed by Rafael Câmara and Nikola Tsolov. Mini and MP Motorsport are the favourites for pole position, while newcomers such as Laurens van Hoepen note the extreme difficulty of the narrow, low‑speed street circuit.

The unique qualifying format and limited overtaking at Monaco make qualifying performance and pit‑stop strategy crucial, with a high likelihood of a safety‑car deployment influencing race outcomes.
