Forneria expands to Lisbon with unconventional francesinha menu

Forneria, a restaurant concept originating in Vila Real, has expanded to Lisbon with its first capital location in Campo de Ourique. The establishment focuses on merging Portuguese and Italian culinary traditions using wood-fired ovens.

One of the restaurant's notable offerings is a non-traditional version of the francesinha, featuring suckling pig (leitão) from Negrais and a base made from pizza dough. This dough choice is intended to provide a more resilient structure capable of absorbing sauce without losing consistency. The restaurant maintains regional ties by sourcing meats from Vila Real and sausages from Porto's Mercado do Bolhão.
