Foro Madrid conference in Santiago gathers right‑wing leaders from Europe, US and Ibero‑America

The V Encuentro Regional “Foro Madrid” will be held on 3‑4 September 2024 at the San Carlos de Apoquindo centre in Santiago, Chile. Organized by Spain’s Fundación Disenso, the summit aims to bring together political leaders, think‑tank representatives and civil‑society figures from more than 25 countries across Europe, the United States and Ibero‑America to discuss security, economics, international politics and the defence of western values.

The agenda includes sessions on freedom of expression, cooperation against transnational organised crime and the drafting of a “Santiago Declaration” that will outline a common roadmap for right‑wing cooperation in the region. Over 40 panelists are expected, including the Spanish party Vox’s founder Santiago Abascal, who has attended previous meetings. Organisers say the event reflects a “new era for Ibero‑America” following recent electoral victories for right‑wing parties in Honduras, Chile, Colombia and Peru.
