Élodie Gossuin apologizes after Fort Boyard controversy

Élodie Gossuin, a frequent participant in the French television game show Fort Boyard, has issued a public apology following a controversial moment during a recent episode. During a challenge to secure an extra clue, Gossuin's team chose Coline, a member of the public, to sacrifice herself. This decision sparked significant backlash on social media, with viewers criticizing Gossuin for not taking the role herself.

Addressing the controversy on Instagram, Gossuin explained that the team's roles were decided collectively as part of a strategy. However, she admitted, “I could have, I should have raised my hand. Let Coline live her dream until the end,” and expressed sincere apologies to Coline for the decision. Despite the tension, the team successfully raised 16,450 euros for UNICEF and the association Le Refuge.

This appearance marked Gossuin's 14th participation in the program. The episode also highlighted the transition of the show's hosting duties to Cyril Féraud, following Olivier Minne's departure from France Télévisions. Additionally, Gossuin participated despite having recently suffered an injury during a charity run.
