Fortaleza police investigate death of 22-year-old law student

Police in Fortaleza are investigating the death of 22-year-old law student Isabelle Caracristi, who was found dead in the courtyard of a luxury condominium in the Aldeota neighborhood on Sunday night (13).

Caracristi had recently moved into the apartment where she lived with her boyfriend, a law graduate, and his mother. Her family reported that she had stopped responding to messages on Sunday, and her mother discovered the situation the following morning after being unable to reach her or the boyfriend.

The victim's mother expressed concerns on social media regarding the boyfriend's allegedly controlling and obsessive behavior. While the family has raised these concerns, authorities have not yet established a direct link between the boyfriend and the death.

The Ceará State Public Security and Social Defense Secretariat (SSPDS) stated that the official cause of death will only be confirmed following a forensic autopsy. The investigation is being handled by the 2nd Civil Police Station of the Capital.
