Fortescue Zero has announced the acquisition of DS Penske, aiming to debut as the first Australian-owned team in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship for the 2026/27 GEN4 season. The move marks a transition for the Australian technology company from a technical supplier and official PIT BOOST provider to a full racing entrant.

Pending approval from the FIA and Formula E Operations (FEO), the new team will utilize Jaguar’s GEN4 powertrain architecture. This acquisition concludes the tenure of Penske in the championship, which has been a participant since 2014. Gus Pichot, CEO of Fortescue Growth and Energy, stated that the team intends to use high-performance racing as an industrial incubator to develop technologies that can transform industries beyond the racetrack.
