Fortnite launches DC Hot Bat Summer event with new skins, quests and AI‑powered NPCs

Epic Games has rolled out the "Hot Bat Summer" event for Fortnite, adding a range of DC‑themed content. Players can explore the new Batcaverna point of interest, use the Batman Beach Buggy and Bat‑grapple, and complete seasonal quests that award XP and cosmetic items. The event also introduces four summer‑styled DC outfits – Beach‑themed versions of Batman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy – along with associated LEGO accessories.

Two of the new skins, Harley Quinn in a bikini and Poison Ivy in a one‑piece swimsuit, have been restricted to players aged 13 and older because of their revealing design, marking the first age‑rating block for sexual content in Fortnite. The skins remain usable in the main Battle Royale modes.

Separately, Epic announced the integration of AI‑driven “personas” for 36 iconic Fortnite NPCs, giving creators voice‑acted characters with consistent personalities for custom maps. This move aims to lower production costs and enrich the game’s metaverse experience.

Guides have also been published detailing the event’s quests, rewards and how to complete them, as well as pricing for the new cosmetics, which range from 1,500 to 2,500 V‑Bucks each.
