Disney and Epic Games launch Star Wars crossover with Fortnite

Disney and Epic Games have launched a cross-media collaboration between Disney theme parks and Fortnite. The initiative, titled ‘Smugglers Gambit’, connects the physical ‘Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run’ attraction at Disneyland Park in California and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida with a new digital experience in Fortnite.

Players can participate in the digital adventure on a new Fortnite island set around Mersa Veta Station on the planet Ord Ryla. The experience, developed by Disney Games and Digital Entertainment in collaboration with Lucasfilm, features the character Hondo Ohnaka and allows players to engage in co-op missions against pirates and Imperial remnants.

A key component of this partnership is the ‘Forsworn Trooper’ skin, an exclusive in-game cosmetic reward. To unlock this specific outfit, players must physically visit the designated theme park attractions and link their Disney Experiences data with their Epic Games accounts.
