Fortuna Düsseldorf rebuilds squad under coach Alexander Ende

Fortuna Düsseldorf has assembled a largely new roster ahead of the upcoming season, guided by head coach Alexander Ende, who took charge in April. The club brought in several players on loan or permanent deals, including goalkeeper Lasse Rieß from Mainz 05, defender Dominique Heintz, midfielder Philipp Förster, and young talents such as Felix Meiser, Sascha Risch and Miguel Fernandes Gonçalves. New signings also feature Louis Lord, Yassine Bouchama, Jorrit Hendrix and others, many of whom have experience in the Bundesliga and lower divisions.

Ende emphasized player availability and injury prevention, noting that the previous season saw frequent absences that contributed to the team’s relegation to the 3. Liga after 17 years in higher tiers. With a largely fit squad and a reinforced medical department, the club aims to start the season in Mannheim with confidence, hoping to avoid the pitfalls that plagued the prior campaign.
