Women's health: Early menopause and financial anxiety linked to social risks
A study involving nearly 20,000 women published in the journal Menopause indicates that biological factors and socioeconomic disadvantages significantly intersect to impact women's health. Women experiencing early menopause—defined as the period between ages 40 and 45—face increased risks of dementia and heart disease, particularly when combined with social challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and lower educational attainment.
Separately, financial experts highlight that many women experience significant anxiety regarding money and investing. This fear often manifests as procrastination or excessive research rather than a lack of interest. Experts note that such anxiety is frequently rooted in childhood experiences or past financial stress, which can lead to long-term consequences by delaying necessary financial management.
