The financial education platform Fortunalista is focusing on the psychological aspects of wealth management, specifically targeting the barriers women face when investing.

Founder Margarethe Honisch has identified that financial anxiety often stems from childhood experiences where money was linked to stress, conflict, or shame. This anxiety can manifest as procrastination or excessive research, leading to a loss of potential financial growth.

To combat these ‘money belief systems’—ingrained subconscious blocks such as the belief that ‘investing is only for the wealthy’—the platform has introduced the ‘Money Reset Challenge.’ This initiative aims to help individuals transition from limiting psychological patterns toward a more structured financial overview.

Recent research published in the journal Menopause has further highlighted the intersection of biological and socioeconomic factors affecting women. A study of nearly 20,000 women indicates that those experiencing early menopause—between ages 40 and 45—face increased risks of dementia and heart disease, particularly when compounded by poverty, unemployment, or lower educational attainment. This broader context of socioeconomic disadvantage aligns with ongoing discussions regarding the complex relationship between women’s health, social risks, and financial anxiety.
