Forza Italia Sicily Leader Nino Minardo Calls for Party Overhaul After Election Setback

Regional commissioner Nino Minardo warned that Forza Italia in Sicily faces a crisis after recent elections, saying voters are tired of internal feuds, scandals and “medieval” behaviour. He called for a complete renewal of the party’s leadership, emphasizing that credibility must be earned through honesty and service.

Minardo pointed to poor results in provinces such as Agrigento, Caltanissetta, and Messina, where local leaders have been implicated in investigations and the party’s vote share collapsed. He argued that the party’s decline is not due to opponents but to its own divisions and a loss of trust among the electorate.

The commissioner pledged to start a rebuilding process focused on the most affected territories, urging a new, credible class of leaders to restore voter confidence.
