FOSIS announces new support for entrepreneurship in Chile

The Social Solidarity and Investment Fund (FOSIS) presented its 2025-2026 Participatory Public Account, outlining new measures to strengthen entrepreneurship and autonomous employment in Chile. During 2025, over 57,000 people participated in FOSIS entrepreneurship programs, and 91,000 individuals accessed state-subsidized microcredits to start or bolster productive activities, many of which are family-led businesses.

For 2026, FOSIS announced new slots for the 'Emprendamos' program and plans to strengthen 'Chile Trabaja' to increase employability for vulnerable populations. Additionally, the 'Emprendamos Emergencia' line will support entrepreneurs whose economic activities were damaged by weather events.

The institution also highlighted social innovation through 'Innova FOSIS,' which developed 16 pilot projects in 2025, including initiatives to help caregivers generate independent income. Other social programs, such as 'EcoMercados Solidarios,' recovered over 308,000 kilograms of food to benefit approximately 9,500 households.
