Four Pakistani Laborers Burned Alive in Amendolara, Italy Over Room Overcrowding Dispute

On Monday, June 1, four Pakistani agricultural workers were set on fire and killed in Amendolara, Calabria, after a dispute about being forced to live ten people in a single room. Two Pakistani men, Ahmed Safeer and Ali Raza, were arrested and placed in pre‑trial detention. The investigating judge noted that the attackers acted with "ferma e glaciale risoluzione criminosa" and showed no remorse.

Police are also examining the possible involvement of a third accomplice after a surviving Afghan laborer, Mohammad Taj Alamyar, identified a friend of the suspects. All individuals linked to the case, including the survivor and a compatriot absent due to illness, have been moved to a protected location.
