Four people injured in separate highway crashes in Missouri and Iowa

Two separate two-vehicle crashes in the Midwestern United States resulted in multiple injuries on Friday, August 7.

In DeKalb County, Missouri, a collision occurred near Osborn at the intersection of Highway 36 and Route M. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a Mazda CX-90 failed to yield at a stop sign, entering the path of a Nissan Altima. The crash injured four people, including two juveniles. The driver of the Mazda sustained serious injuries, while the Nissan driver and a 16-year-old passenger sustained moderate injuries. A 17-year-old passenger from the Mazda also suffered minor injuries. All victims were transported to Mosaic Life Care.

In Henry County, Iowa, a crash occurred early Friday morning on Highway 218 near School Avenue. An Iowa State Patrol report stated that a Volvo XC60 failed to yield while turning across southbound lanes, striking a Ford F-450. Four occupants from the Volvo, including a five-year-old, were injured and transported to Henry County Hospital. Authorities noted that all occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
