Jabalpur man accused of brutally assaulting 75-year-old mother

In the Ashok Vihar Colony of Ranjhi, Jabalpur, a man identified as Raju Vishwakarma has been accused of brutally assaulting his 75-year-old mother, Mitra Vishwakarma. The incident, which occurred on the morning of August 7, was captured on CCTV, showing the assailant dragging the elderly woman by her hair and striking her in the middle of the street.

Neighbors reported that the assailant, who is frequently intoxicated, has a history of harassing his mother and threatening residents with violence. Despite previous written complaints filed at the Ranjhi Police Station, locals claim no significant action had been taken until the video surfaced.

Following the public outcry and the viral nature of the footage, the Jabalpur Police have taken cognizance of the matter. SDOP Satish Sahu confirmed that a police team has been dispatched to the location to investigate the incident and work toward the arrest of the accused.
