India police disrupt robbery plots

Overview

In early August 2026, Indian police in different states reported a series of successful interventions against armed robbery attempts. In Raipur, Chhattisgarh, the Commissionerate Police foiled a planned heist on a Kalyan Jewellers showroom, arresting three young suspects and seizing a pistol, ammunition, knives and cash. Two additional accomplices remain at large.

Around the same time, Rajasthan police announced the capture of four suspects involved in an armed home robbery in Dholpur. The gang had used a weapon and a marriage pretext to bind the victim, stealing cash, jewellery and documents. Authorities recovered an illegal pistol, cartridges and the motorcycle used in the crime.

Both incidents illustrate coordinated police actions across Indian states to prevent robberies, apprehend perpetrators, and confiscate weapons and stolen property.
