Four-year-old girl dies in pool accident in Antas, Spain

A four‑year‑old girl drowned on Sunday in the private pool of a rural cortijo in Antas, Almería. The incident occurred around 10:36 a.m. while family members were preparing breakfast. The child allegedly opened a locked gate and entered the pool despite a perimeter fence.

Emergency services, including the Guardia Civil, local police, and the Andalusian emergency medical center (061), arrived and performed CPR, but the victim could not be revived. The 112 emergency protocol was activated to offer psychological support to the family, and a Judicial Police team began formal investigations. The mayor of Antas announced a day of official mourning for the municipality.
