Fouzi Lekjaa calls for unified development across Morocco
Fouzi Lekjaa, a member of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) political bureau and Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, has called for the creation of a ‘Morocco at a single speed.’ Speaking at a party meeting in the Ghouazi commune of Taounate province, Lekjaa emphasized that reducing developmental disparities between different regions is a primary goal for the upcoming government.
Lekjaa warned that unequal development rates between provinces create social and economic imbalances. He argued that true national progress depends on the ability of public policies to ensure all territories benefit from similar infrastructure, services, and economic dynamics. He identified education, healthcare, and road networks as the essential pillars for achieving this territorial justice.
Addressing social challenges, Lekjaa highlighted the critical issue of school dropouts, noting that over 300,000 students leave the Moroccan school system annually. He also stressed the importance of investing in human capital, noting that while Moroccan youth show great potential in fields like medicine, engineering, and innovation, they require better opportunities and improved public services to succeed.
