Fouzi Lekjaa to join Morocco's Authenticity and Modernity Party ahead of 2026 legislative elections
Fouzi Lekjaa, Morocco’s minister delegate in charge of the budget and president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, is set to become a member of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM). Party sources say his membership will be officially announced at PAM’s National Council meeting in Rabat on July 25, granting him an automatic seat on the party’s Political Bureau.
The move comes weeks before the country’s legislative elections scheduled for September 23, 2026. Lekjaa is expected to run as a PAM candidate in the province of Berkane. His dual role in government and football has prompted questions about how the new political responsibilities might affect his leadership of the federation.
