Fox series Best Medicine set to return for season two

The Fox dramedy series ‘Best Medicine’ is scheduled to return for its second season on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. Following an early renewal in March, the new season begins with the episode ‘Be Careful What You Fish For’.

In the season premiere, protagonist Dr. Martin Best continues to manage a blood phobia while a mermaid reportedly washes ashore in the town of Port Wenn. The episode also features guest star Andrea Martin as Judith, a townsperson navigating issues with prescribed oxygen. Other plotlines involve Louisa seeking medical guidance from Martin’s girlfriend, Eden, and the consequences of a sea urchin boom for characters Greg and George.

Showrunner Liz Tuccillo has teased a time jump for the new season, which will also include the episodes ‘Breakin' In is Hard to Do’ and ‘Crate Expectations’. The returning cast includes Josh Charles, Abigail Spencer, Josh Segarra, Annie Potts, and Cree, with Stephen Spinella and Jason Veasey promoted to series regulars.
