France tax deadlines: income tax and property tax updates

French taxpayers face several upcoming fiscal deadlines and automatic withdrawals. On September 25, 2026, approximately 13.8 million households will see automatic bank debits to regularize their 2025 income tax. The average balance due is 1,798 euros. For amounts under 300 euros, the full sum is collected at once; amounts exceeding this threshold are split into four installments between September and December.

Additionally, property tax (taxe foncière) 2026 deadlines are approaching. Payment methods dictate different due dates: online payments are generally due by October 20, while cash or check payments for amounts under 300 euros must be settled by October 15. Those opting for automatic scheduled withdrawals must register by September 30.

Relief measures are also available for specific groups. Property owners over 65 may qualify for a 100-euro reduction or full exemption depending on their reference fiscal income. Furthermore, CAF social benefits, including RSA and housing aid, are scheduled for disbursement on October 5, 2026.
