France 2 tops July 2026 TV ratings as M6 records best month since 2006

In July 2026, France 2 led national television audiences with a 17.0 % share, surpassing TF1’s 16.3 %. M6 achieved its strongest month since 2006, reaching a 13.3 % share, boosted by extensive coverage of the 2022 World Cup and the Tour de France, which attracted a record 45.6 million viewers. BFMTV remained the leading news channel with a 3.2 % share, ahead of LCI and CNews. France Televisions described France 2’s performance as “historic” and “unprecedented outside the 2024 Olympic Games.” M6 chief executive David Larramendy said the investment in sports coverage was worthwhile, while BFMTV director Fabien Namias credited field reporting on recent fires for the channel’s continued lead.
