France birth leave policy faces administrative delays

Families in France are experiencing administrative difficulties following the implementation of a new supplementary birth leave policy. The measure, which began on July 1, allows parents to take up to two additional months of leave, which can be taken simultaneously, separately, or in installments following maternity or paternity leave.

However, many recipients report significant delays in receiving their daily allowances. Some parents have faced delays of over 20 days, forcing them to use personal savings to cover living expenses. Issues reported include missing documentation and processing bottlenecks within the Agricultural Social Security (MSA) and the Primary Health Insurance Fund (CPAM).
