France crime: Arrests made in koi carp theft and EV station vandalism
Authorities in France have made several arrests following high-value thefts. In the Oise department, gendarmes apprehended four individuals suspected of stealing approximately 230 Japanese koi carp from the Aqua Koï fish farm in Cauffry. The theft, which occurred in late July, resulted in an estimated loss of 83,000 euros. Investigators utilized video surveillance and telephone investigations to identify the suspects, including a father and son.
In Haute-Garonne, a specialized gang was caught in the act of targeting electric vehicle charging stations. Three individuals, aged 18 to 37, were arrested for suspected involvement in damaging 16 stations, causing roughly 300,000 euros in damages. This incident is part of a broader national trend where at least 650 charging stations across France have been targeted for copper theft since the beginning of the year, totaling over 14 million euros in damages.
