France electronic invoicing reform set for 2026 reshapes e‑commerce

NTT DATA Business Solutions announced that its cloud platform JOUBINI has been granted Approved Platform status (formerly PDP) for France's electronic invoicing reform, which will take effect on 1 September 2026. The solution, already certified in Spain, Poland and Romania, offers a centralized, automated and secure environment for e‑invoicing, EDI and ERP data exchanges, supporting formats such as Factur‑X, UBL, XML and EDIFACT.

The reform obliges all VAT‑registered companies, irrespective of size, to receive electronic invoices through an approved platform from September 2026 and, from September 2027, to issue them as well. E‑commerce operators must adapt order‑to‑invoice workflows, adopt structured invoice formats, ensure client‑data quality and integrate with ERP or accounting tools to meet new e‑reporting requirements. The measures aim to curb VAT fraud, modernise B2B exchanges and automate tax reporting across the EU.
