France food recalls issued for Salmonella and E. coli risks

Multiple food products are being recalled in France due to various contamination risks, including bacteria, toxins, and physical foreign objects.

Monique Ranou has issued a recall for its 100g packs of sliced dry sausage (saucisson sec) sold at Intermarché locations nationwide between August 11 and August 27, 2026. The recall is due to the presence of Salmonella. Consumers experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, or fever after consuming the product are advised to consult a physician.

Other significant recalls include: • L'Etal du BOUCHER: Ground beef (15% fat) due to the presence of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC). • Vertufood: A sports mix containing Salmonella. • Capitaine Houat: Sardine fillets due to the presence of histamine. • Various deli salads (Marco Polo and Alaska salads) and shrimp cocktails due to the potential presence of hard foreign objects such as glass, metal, or plastic.

Additionally, Georges Mezotti is recalling certain toilet waters due to the presence of chemical substances, specifically butylphenyl methylpropional and butyphenyl methylpropional.
