France holds summer blood donation drives in Lieusaint and Gisors
The Westfield Carré Sénart shopping centre in Lieusaint will host two blood‑collection sessions on 28 July and 3 August 2026 as part of the “Saison Santé” campaign. Organized with the Établissement français du sang (EFS), the events are open to donors aged 18‑70 who weigh at least 50 kg and can be booked in advance.
In Gisors, a roundabout has been planted with 320 red begonias to symbolize a drop of blood and encourage motorists to donate. The city, in partnership with the EFS and local volunteers, will hold the next collection on 27 July 2026 at the municipal multipurpose hall. The initiative follows a 2025 agreement that saw 756 donors in the town, placing it among the top ten French locales for blood‑donor numbers.
Both actions aim to increase voluntary blood donations during the summer, highlighting community involvement and public‑health solidarity across the Île‑de‑France and Normandy regions.
