Octobre Rose initiatives launch in France and Brazil

Various organizations and local governments in France and Brazil are launching initiatives for Octobre Rose, a month dedicated to breast cancer awareness and screening.

In France, activities range from corporate solidarity to local community events. Lidl is donating €2.50 from every pink Parkside drill sold to the Ruban Rose association. Local municipalities and associations are organizing walks, runs, and themed events in regions such as Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, and Huningue to encourage early detection. In Haute-Gironde, a partnership between the Rotary Club and local hunters raised funds for the Jeune&Rose association. Other programs include educational workshops, self-defense sessions, and creative challenges like the Institut Curie scarf-making initiative.

In Brazil, the city of Ribeirão Pires is implementing a program through its Health Secretariat. Local health units (UBS and USF) will host lectures and educational activities led by medical professionals to promote health awareness and early identification of breast changes. The initiative follows Ministry of Health guidelines regarding mammography screening for women.
