France hosts regional events for World Alzheimer's Day

Various regional events in France are being organized to observe World Alzheimer's Day, focusing on awareness and support for patients and their families.

In Mirande, France Alzheimer Gers will host a solidarity day on September 19. The program includes a morning walk, a “Gratiferia” free market, and the signing of a “Ville aidante” (Helping City) charter by Mayor Bernard Dorey and Jean-Marc Pinaud. The event aims to provide concrete support through memory cafes, support groups, and training.

In Perpignan, France Alzheimer Pyrénées-Orientales will organize the “Mémo Run 66” on September 13, 2026. Described as a “race against forgetting,” the event features 5 km and 10 km runs, as well as a 5 km walk and children's races. The activities will start at the Castillet and conclude at the Palais des Congrès to raise funds and awareness for local Alzheimer's initiatives.
