France: Income tax corrections and settlement deadlines
Taxpayers in France have the opportunity to correct errors in their 2026 income tax declarations. The official online correction service is available until November 30, 2026, for declarations regarding income received in 2025. This service allows for the modification of various details, including income amounts, expenses, dependents, and information used to calculate tax credits or reductions. It also covers elements for the real estate wealth tax (IFI) and independent social declarations.
Additionally, taxpayers should be aware of the annual income tax settlement process. Starting September 25, individuals who owe a remaining balance after withholding tax deductions may see payments debited from their accounts. This balance occurs when the amount withheld during the year is less than the final calculated tax liability, often due to income increases or changes in tax advantages. Depending on the amount owed, the payment may be taken in a single installment or spread across four installments through the end of the year.
