France national football team unveils new crest for 2026

The French Football Federation (FFF) presented a redesigned emblem for the France men’s national team ahead of the 2026 cycle. The new badge returns to a golden rooster facing left, echoing the design used between 1967 and 2007, and adds a modern touch with simplified lines, a blue background and the word “FRANCE” in an arc. The two stars above the rooster honour the World Cup titles of 1998 and 2018, while the previous hexagonal outline has been removed.

Alongside the visual overhaul, the federation confirmed former midfielder Zinedine Zidane as the new head coach, signing him to a contract that runs until 2030. Zidane, 54, expressed his excitement about leading the team after a long playing career that included the 1998 World Cup triumph.
