France police detain repeat drunk driver and unlicensed speeder

In Pamiers, Ariège, a driver was stopped for a blood‑alcohol level more than three times the legal limit and had his licence immediately retained. He resumed driving a few hours later, claiming he wanted to avoid a paid parking space. Police re‑arrested him, confirming he was still over the limit, and placed him in custody pending a pre‑trial procedure.

In Dieppe, Seine‑Maritime, a 22‑year‑old was caught driving a Volkswagen Polo at high speed without a licence. After a brief pursuit he fled on foot, was later located smoking near a fast‑food parking lot, and was taken into custody. His vehicle was immobilised.

Both incidents resulted in the individuals being detained by French police and facing legal consequences for driving under prohibited conditions.
