France Restaurant Week to launch with sustainability theme

The Diners Club France Restaurant Week is set to begin on September 18, featuring special courses at over 500 restaurants nationwide. In Iwate Prefecture, six restaurants are participating in the event.

At a presentation held in Morioka City on September 15, chefs and local officials gathered to showcase the upcoming offerings. The theme for this year’s event is “sustainable,” focusing on reducing environmental impact through the use of locally sourced ingredients to highlight regional culinary charms.

One participating venue, comfort dining DADA in Morioka, demonstrated the concept by serving a French-style stew made with beef from Shizukuishi. The event will run from September 18 through October 18.
